Conferences

We believe that young people need to come to a critical understanding of the issues that face them and TEAM helps them to do so by testing their ideas with active debate at our interactive conferences for Sixth Form and University students.

Conversations not presentations

At TEAM, we are dedicated to enriching students' lives by providing them with the tools to critically engage with the pressing issues they face today. Through our interactive conferences designed for Sixth Form and University students, we create a platform where young minds can test their ideas and develop a deeper understanding through active debate.

Our conferences are inclusive, welcoming students from diverse backgrounds, particularly those who might not typically have access to such enriching experiences. We bring together inspiring speakers from various fields—diplomacy, charity, law, media, and business—offering students the opportunity to hear directly from professionals who are shaping the world.

Past speakers have represented a wide range of organisations, including Amnesty International, Labour Behind the Label, Christian Aid, the BBC, Channel 4, Hope Not Hate, the CBI, and the Institute of Economic Affairs, as well as members of the London Assembly and local Members of Parliament.

Organise a Conference in Partnership with TEAM Global

Choose a topic

We collaborate closely with your school or university to select a topic that is both age-appropriate for the students and of significant global relevance. Whether it's examining technological developments, discussing the impact of elections, or exploring political issues such as whether the voting age should be lowered to 16, we ensure the topic is engaging and educational. Our goal is to create a conference that not only challenges students but also enriches their understanding of important world issues.

Finding speakers

We have a robust network of experienced public speakers, including former academics, politicians, business leaders, and NGO professionals. We will work with you to identify and invite speakers who are highly relevant to the chosen topic. In the past, we've successfully brought in local MPs, London-based representatives, entrepreneurs, and professional debaters to engage with students. Our goal is to ensure that the speakers not only resonate with the audience but also bring valuable insights to the conference.

Attendance

While our partner schools or universities typically take the lead in deciding which students to invite and whether to include participants from other local institutions, we are here to assist. Should you require support with the financial and administrative aspects of organizing the event, we are happy to help ensure everything runs smoothly. Our aim is to provide the necessary resources and guidance so that your conference is a success.

Support on the day

On the day of the conference, our team will be on-site to assist in managing the event and ensuring everything runs smoothly. We will handle the logistics, from coordinating with the public speakers to welcoming participants. Our presence allows you to focus on the content and experience, while we take care of the details, ensuring a seamless and successful event.
